กรมปศุสัตว์เป็นเจ้าภาพร่วมจัดงานครบรอบ 100 ปี ก่อตั้งองค์การโรคระบาดสัตว์โลก (OIE/WOAH)

กระทรวงเกษตรและสหกรณ์ โดยกรมปศุสัตว์ ร่วมเป็นเจ้าภาพในการจัดงานฉลองครบรอบ 100 ปี องค์การสุขภาพสัตว์โลก (World Organisation for Animal Health, WOAH) ในวันที่ 25 มกราคม 2567 ณ ตึกอำนวยการ กรมปศุสัตว์ กรุงเทพมหานคร

นายสัตวแพทย์สมชวน รัตนมังคลานนท์ อธิบดีกรมปศุสัตว์ มอบหมายนายสัตวแพทย์วัชรพล โชติยะปุตตะ ผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านการปศุสัตว์ระหว่างประเทศในการกล่าวต้อนรับแขกในพิธี โดยองค์การสุขภาพสัตว์โลกเป็นองค์การที่มีส่วนสำคัญในการควบคุม จัดการ และป้องกันโรคระบาดในสัตว์เป็นอย่างมากไม่เฉพาะในประเทศไทย แต่รวมถึงภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และยังเป็นความภาคภูมิใจของประเทศไทยเป็นอย่างมากที่ได้ทำหน้าที่ในฐานะประเทศตัวแทนของ WOAH สำหรับอนุภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ และมีความคาดหวังว่าจะมีการร่วมมือกันเพื่อพัฒนาการควบคุมโรค และพัฒนาคุณภาพชีวิตของสัตว์ในอนาคต

โดยงานนี้ได้มีผู้แทนหน่วยงานเข้าร่วมแสดงความยินดีจากหลายภาคส่วน อาทิ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ กรมประมง สำนักงานมาตรฐานสินค้าเกษตรและอาหารแห่งชาติ กรมควบคุมโรค กรมอุทยานแห่งชาติ สัตว์ป่า และพันธุ์พืช สัตวแพทยสภา สัตวแพทยสมาคมแห่งประเทศไทย ในพระบรมราชูปถัมภ์ สำนักงานสมาพันธ์สมาคมสัตวแพทย์แห่งเอเชีย คณะสัตวแพทยศาสตร์จากมหาวิทยาลัยต่างๆ สมาคมขี่ม้าแห่งประเทศไทย สมาคมสัตวแพทย์ควบคุมฟาร์มสุกรไทย สมาคมโคเนื้อแห่งประเทศไทย สมาคมผู้ผลิตไก่เพื่อส่งออกไทย รวมทั้งผู้แทนจากสถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหราชอาณาจักรประจำประเทศไทย สถานเอกอัครราชทูตเครือรัฐออสเตรเลียประจำประเทศไทย สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐฝรั่งเศสประจำประเทศไทย สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐประชาชนจีนประจำประเทศไทย และผู้แทนจากองค์การระหว่างประเทศ ได้แก่ องค์การอาหารและการเกษตรแห่งสหประชาชาติ องค์การอนามัยโลก และโครงการสิ่งแวดล้อมแห่งสหประชาชาติ นับเป็นการสะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นของประเทศไทยในการพัฒนาด้านสุขภาพสัตว์ สวัสดิภาพสัตว์ภายใต้แนวคิดสุขภาพหนึ่งเดียว เพื่อสุขภาพที่ดีของประชาชนและความมั่นคงทางอาหารและต่อไป

Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH)

Department of Livestock, the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives was the host for the 100th Anniversary celebration of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) on January 25, 2024, at the Department of Livestock in Bangkok.

Dr. Somchuan Rattanamungklanon, Director-General of the Department of Livestock appointed Dr.Wacharapon Chotiyaputta, Veterinarian Expert level expressed in welcome remarks the critical role of WOAH in controlling, managing, and preventing animal diseases. The organisation's significant contributions not only in Thailand but also across Southeast Asia were emphasized. Additionally, Dr. Chotiyaputta highlighted Thailand's pride in representing for Southeast Asia Sub-region, making the collective effort to improve disease control and animal welfare.

Participants from various sectors included Ministry of foreign Affairs, Department of Fishery, National Bureau of Agricultural Commodity and Food Standardsthe, Department of Disease Control, Department of National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, Veterinary Councill, Veterinary Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage, Federation of Asian Veterinary Associations Faculty of Veterinary Consortium, Thailand Equestrian Federation, Thai Swine Veterinary Association, The Beef Cattle Association, Thai Broiler Processing Exporters Association as well as Representative of Embassy etc. and also International Organisation. This centennial celebration reflects Thailand's ongoing commitment to animal health and welfare, aligning with WOAH's global vision. The Department of Livestock looks forward to continued collaboration with international partners to advance veterinary science and enhance the quality of life for animals regionally and globally.
